Rolland Emmerich To Debate His New Movie, ‘Anonymous’, With An Historian

OOOOOOK.

So apparently film director Rolland Emmerich (the genius behind many thought provoking films such as Independence Day, 10,000 BC, The Day After Tomorrow, and 2012) has planned a LIVE debate with historian/lecturer/writer Charles Beauclerk concerning his upcoming movie, Anonymous. Emmerich’s new film–a 16th century political thriller–claims that Edward De Vere, the Earl of Oxford, is the real person who penned Shakespeare’s plays.

Anyway, I’m not sure if this will be a back and forth argument about who is really behind Shakespeare’s works or if this debate will actually be a discussion.  I have no opinion whatsoever on this subject, but I really hope it’s the former for obvious reasons. “It’s true because it’s in MY movie and I read a bunch of books and talked to a bunch of smart people!”
